COP30 statement for a roadmap towards renewable energy
A new statement, coordinated by We Mean Business Coalition and signed by RedCAT, calls on governments at COP30 to initiate a roadmap to hopefully accelerate implementation, including on the transition away from fossil fuels, as agreed under the first Global Stocktake.
In an open letter to the COP Presidency, 140+ companies, business groups, subnational governments, health organizations and actors driving real-world implementation urge leaders to adopt a roadmap that clearly outlines the shift toward renewable energy and clean electrification. By setting a coherent long-term direction, a roadmap provides clarity for investment to accelerate action well beyond COP30.
About the COP30 statement
Support has been building at COP30 for President Lula’s call for a roadmap that clearly outlines the shift toward clean electrification and renewables. A roadmap can hopefully support planning and investment and build on the momentum we see in the real economy — toward renewable energy, clean electrification and greater energy resilience.
For companies, a good roadmap can provide clarity on targets and timelines that can guide long-term decisions.

Key messages about the statement
