Scaling up renewable energy with Global Energy Systems
GES
Delivering high-performance air source heat pumps for a sustainable future
Heating and cooling consume a large share of global energy, making efficient renewable solutions essential. Global Energy Systems (GES) is driving this shift by designing and manufacturing high-performance Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs) for the UK market.
With over 50 years of engineering expertise spanning three generations, GES has spent the last decade pioneering renewable energy technology. Collaborating with a UK-wide network of merchants and installers, GES ensures its ASHP solutions are widely accessible.
Strategic support from RedCAT
RedCAT has played a key role in supporting GES’s scale-up strategy, guiding product portfolio management, manufacturing expansion, and sales growth. Grant funding helped establish a cutting-edge R&D and Production Centre for ASHPs, safeguarding 18 high-skilled jobs and creating 20 more. To date, over £1 million has been invested in new products and upskilling Further Education students in Lancashire.
Future growth and innovation
As GES continues to scale, RedCAT remains a strategic partner, helping to:
- Boost manufacturing productivity
- Expand sales through digital tools and market segmentation
- Develop a strong service strategy, including installer training
- Ensure compliance with evolving refrigerant regulations (F-Gas)
A key player in the RedCAT network
GES is an active member of the RedCAT network, connecting low-carbon technology innovators, manufacturers, and installers. Supported by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, this collaboration accelerates commercialisation and local supply chain development.
At a 2024 RedCAT Network event, David Halton of GES highlighted the company’s commitment to training through partnerships with Lancashire colleges. GES also offers in-house ASHP training, ensuring a skilled workforce to support the UK’s transition to sustainable heating.
Through its partnership with RedCAT, GES is scaling operations while advancing the renewable energy sector—delivering cleaner, more efficient heating solutions for a greener future.
